BEING THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF - THE BENEFITS OF EXTRA EXERCISE

Busy with work and other commitments?

Can’t find the time to stay fit?

This is very common. There are only so many hours in a day, and after a long hard day at work, all you want to do is lounge down and watch some Netflix, play video games, or do whatever you enjoy in your leisure time.

Perhaps you work late hours, which means you are often missing training if you participate in social sports.

I share your pain, it seemed that only a few years ago when I was still in school, I had all the time in the world to go to the gym. I was in great shape, and as a result, I was very happy and confident.

But like every adult, life gets busy, and I found myself not exercising anywhere near as much as I would hope. I would get home from a big day of work or study and all I would want to do was lay down.

3 years and many, many injuries later, exercising has slowly become less and less, and I have seen it take its toll on me both physically and mentally.

I can only imagine there are many of you having the same trouble and enduring similar pain.

It has taken me not being able to exercise as much to realise the major benefits it gives to all of us. When it seemed I had all the free time in the world, I took staying fit for granted.

So, what’s the solution? The honest truth is, the solution for every individual is different, depending on their situation.

Say you work a 9-5, and then train for your social sport twice a week. Take out weekends, there are still at least 3 days a week where you can do extracurricular fitness.

150 minutes of fitness per week is the minimum amount of time experts say you should spend doing fitness, whether it be walking, running, gym work, etc. Divide that by 5 days, it only equates to half an hour per day.

Yes, getting off the couch is hard, trust me I know that better than anyone, but we can all find half an hour in our day to enjoy some sunshine and go for a simple walk, or whatever it is you enjoy doing to stay fit.

As I said, everybody is different, so finding the time in the day will be different.

The Zoho App is a time management app that helps you enhance your time based on your specific circumstances and helps you become the best version of yourself. You can plan your upcoming week, so you know exactly when you have the time to go out and stay fit.

The benefits of just a little extra exercise are unreal. Apart from the obvious which is staying in shape, science has shown that keeping fit improves your brain health, reduces the risk of disease, and improves your ability to do everyday activities in general.

No matter our circumstances, sometimes all we need is a little motivation to get back on our feet and keep our bodies in pristine shape!

This will help you as an individual in both the short and long term and will ensure your happiness for years to come!
